Description
REV ACTIVE – at the cutting edge of new business support and resource efficiency initiatives.
The REV ACTIVE project has been formed with its desired outcome being:
For SMEs to recognise & realise the benefits of resource efficiency improvements in their day to day operations to reduce their carbon footprint and cost base, with a view to achieving growth.
The REV ACTIVE project, which was developed by Breckland Council in partnership with Norfolk County Council and Shaping Norfolk’s Future, grew from a programme of visits by Breckland’s Economic Development Officers to businesses along the A11 corridor. From discussions with managers, it became apparent that local companies were keen to adopt energy-saving measures but needed help, advice and hands-on support tailored to their individual circumstances and premises.
REV ACTIVE seeks to identify businesses that have the greatest potential to improve their energy efficiency and reduce their carbon levels, working with them to proactively realise this potential and the associated business benefits in doing so, i.e. reduced costs and business growth. The project involves establishing a resource efficiency network ‘environment’ which provides the framework and foundation from which intervention can take place.
REV ACTIVE will help SMEs make substantial savings through resource efficiency and low carbon initiatives. The project will create an environment where businesses can share ideas and best practice, and benefit from working together. There is increasing pressure from central government for businesses to reduce carbon emissions and the project will provide a fantastic opportunity for companies to achieve significant savings whilst acting in a greener way.
The REV ACTIVE project is funded by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund.)
